Description:

Dr Aleksandar Janca is currently Professor of Psychiatry and Head of the Mental Health Epidemiology Unit at the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, University of Western Australia. He also works as Consultant Psychiatrist at Royal Perth Hospital and is Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre in Perth. He currently holds adjunct professorial appointments at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee and Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland.
Dr Janca started his international research career in 1987 as a Fulbright Scholar at the Department of Psychiatry, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. From 1991 to 1997 he worked as a Medical Officer at WHO Headquarters in Geneva and was responsible for coordination of a number of international research projects in the areas of psychiatric epidemiology and public health aspects of mental and neurological disorders.
