Gemma Edwards-Smith
Description:
MBBS (UWA), FRANZCP, Dr Edwards-Smith has an extensive experience of working in public and private mental health services. She was working in acute psychiatric settings of public services treating a range of psychiatric problems including psychotic and affective conditions. Since 2002 she has been working in private practice.
Dr Edwards-Smith has been interested in and accumulated experience in general psychiatry, particularly mood disorders in women. She has been also involved in civil forensic psychiatry including provisions of independent medical assessments and court reports for workers compensation proceedings and civil proceedings.
Dr Edwards-Smith has been involved in the activities of the WA Branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) as an active member of the Branch Committee, the Committee of Postgraduate Training and the Examiner of the College.
